Padang Besar


 Padang Besar is a shopping heaven and popular destination for Malaysians. Padang Besar is located in north Malaysia(Perlis) and the border town with Thailand.

 It offer open-air markets in the countryIt is not as glamour as those high modern shopping center. Here,there are of lots stall that sells various goods at cheap prices. The goods sold here mostly are imported from Thailand.  



There are clothes, decorative items, home furnishing goods, game, leather goods and also food. However the tourist attraction here is the surely to the shops which sells branded imitation goods. Business hours going and out of the border is from 8.00 o'clock in the morning to 10.30 night for Padang Besar gate.

 Other than shopping, you can also dine here as there are lots of food stalls around.  
#1  'Pulut Ayam' which is a plate of sticky rice with fried chicken and its special chilli sauce. 
All only cost you RM4.


#2  Somtum is a classic Thai dish. Somtum is typically prepared three different ways. It can be “Somtum Thai” which has peanuts mixed in, “Somtum Bu” which has small pickled crabs pounded in, or “Somtum Lao sai pla ra” which includes the juice of pickled mudfish. Som tum is eaten as a snack as a salad.
