Harum Manis

Did you know that Perlis produce the best mango in Malaysia??

Harum Manis is one of the main tourism products in Perlis. 

If we translate it to English, 

it means Harum = Aramotic and Manis = Sweet. 

Harum Manis is originated from Indonesia.  What makes this type of mango so special because it is only found in the state of Perlis. However, the season is only available from April to June only. So after this local season, the mango actually imported from our neighbour country, Indonesia.

Harum Manis generally as big as our palm. It is usually weight around 1kg each, which the price ranging from RM 20 to RM 25 per kg. Since this mango is one of the best mango in the world, Harum Manis is export to Japan, which the fruit become popular in Japan. This explained why Harum Manis sold in a premium price, hence not all the fruit can export to country like Japan and Singapore. Harum Manis can also be eaten with steamed glutinous rice + coconut milk. It is called 'Pulut Mangga'.

Sadly, this year Harum Manis wont be export to Japan and Singapore due rainy season which spoils the fruits. 

 This is Pusat Pertanian Bukit Bintang. This is where they produce Harum Manis  and other fruits.
